BolotBeishenaliev(Russian:БолотБейшеналиев;June25,1937—November18,2002)wasaSovietcinematographer,filmandtheateractor.People'sArtistofKyrgyzstan.[1][2]FatherofactorAzizBeyshenaliyev.[2]BeyshenaliyevstudiedatthestudiooftheKyrgyzStateTheaterofOperaandBallet,graduatingin1957,andattheAleksandrOstrovskyInstituteofTheaterArtinTashkentuntil1963.HesubsequentlyworkedasanassistantdirectoratKyrgyzfilm.[1]Theactor’sfirststarringrolewasofDuishen,inAndreiKonchalovsky’sTheFirstTeacher(1965),adaptedfromanovellabyChingizAitmatov.BeyshenalievportrayedthepassionateBolshevikwhoseunshakeableconvictionsborderonfanaticism.TheinternationalsuccessofTheFirstTeacherbroughttheactorseveralnotableroles,amongthemthe,TatarkhaninAndreiTarkovsky’sAndreiRublev(1966)andtheRedArmysoldierChingizinHungariandirectorMiklósJancsó’sTheRedandtheWhite(1967).AliKhamraevcastBeyshenalievinhiscontroversialcontemporarydramaWhite,WhiteStorks(1966).TheactorsubsequentlyappearedindozensofRussian,Kyrgyz,Kazakh,Uzbek,Mongolian,andCzechfilmsofallgenres,oftenplayingstoicmenandoccasionallyheroiccharacters,forexample,intheUkrainianWorldWarIIblockbusterWhereIs042?astheYakutsurvivorNomokonov.AmongBeyshenaliev’slaterrolesaretheleadinArdakAmirkulov’shistoricalepicTheFallofOtrar(1991)andthevillageseniorinAlekseiBalabanov’sKafkaadaptationTheCastle(1994).HisfinalperformancewasinDalmiraTilepbergenova’sshortfilmTheFalcon’sHood(2001)asadisillusionedoldmanwhosellsbirdsonthemarket.
