DamonGrahamDevereuxHill,OBE(born17September1960)isaBritishformerracingdriver.HeisthesonofGrahamHill,and,alongwithNicoRosberg,oneofonlytwosonsofaFormulaOneworldchampiontowinthetitle.Hestartedracingonmotorbikesin1981,andafterminorsuccessmovedontosingle-seaterracingcars.DespiteprogressingsteadilyuptherankstotheInternationalFormula3000championshipby1989,andoftenbeingcompetitive,heneverwonaraceatthatlevel.HillbecameatestdriverfortheFormulaOnetitle-winningWilliamsteamin1992.HewaspromotedtotheWilliamsraceteamthefollowingyearafterRiccardoPatrese'sdepartureandtookthefirstofhis22victoriesatthe1993HungarianGrandPrix.Duringthemid-1990s,HillwasMichaelSchumacher'smainrivalfortheFormulaOneDrivers'Championship,whichsawthetwoclashseveraltimesonandoffthetrack.Theircollisionatthe1994AustralianGrandPrixgaveSchumacherhisfirsttitlebyasinglepoint.Hillbecamechampionin1996witheightwins,butwasdroppedbyWilliamsforthefollowingseason.HewentontodriveforthelesscompetitiveArrowsandJordanteams,andin1998gaveJordantheirfirstwin.Hillretiredfromracingafterthe1999season.Hehassincelaunchedseveralbusinessesandhasmadeappearancesplayingtheguitarwithcelebritybands.In2006,hebecamepresidentoftheBritishRacingDrivers'Club,succeedingJackieStewart.Hillsteppeddownfromthepositionin2011andwassucceededbyDerekWarwick.Hepresidedoverthesecuringofa17-yearcontractforSilverstonetoholdFormulaOneraces,whichenabledthecircuittoseeextensiverenovationwork.
